Thursday is Leap Day! We’ve been using the Gregorian calendar for over four centuries since Oct.1582. It’s not perfect, which is why every four years we add an extra day to February (the shortest month and in the sign of Pisces). People who are born on February 29 are called Leaplings. However, this has nothing to do with Western astrology, which began seventeen centuries earlier — around 200 BC. In astrology, the cycle of the Earth around the Sun equals 360?; and your birthday occurs when the Sun returns to the same degree it was at when you were born. This applies to Leaplings, as well. But in truth, we are all Lieblings….. (German for “darling”) … well maybe not all.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
You have lots of energy to make things happen in the beginning of the week, especially on Tuesday. You’re focused, determined and optimistic. Admittedly, on Wednesday, you might have a serious reality check. Perhaps you bit off more than you can chew? Maybe you need to rethink things or recalibrate how you’re going to do something. It’s a good time to tweak things because by Thursday, your optimism soars for the rest of the week! It’s all good. It simply means you have to take a second look at things and make sure they are doable and reasonable, and once you’re convinced that you know what you’re doing – you’re off to the races again!
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
At the beginning of this week, you could have a serious talk with someone older or more experienced, which might give you pause. (Little furry ones.) Quite likely, this relates to your ability to deal with a group, especially if you’re in a leadership role; or perhaps it deals with your goals for the future. Either way, consider this an opportunity to rethink things and get them on track in a realistic way. By Thursday (Leap Day!), you will pivot and see things in a more optimistic light. In fact, you might convince others to jump on board and go along with your plans. What favours you now is that Mars at the top of your chart makes you ambitious, and Venus at the top of your chart makes you charming and convincing with bosses and authority figures. It’s a lovefest.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
You look good to others right now, especially bosses, parents and people in authority. This is because the Sun is at the top of your chart casting you in a flattering spotlight. This happens only once a year for four weeks so make the most of this. Admittedly, authority figures might rain on your parade or limit your ideas at the beginning of the week. But perhaps this is an opportunity for you to rethink things? Ironically, by Thursday, relations with authority figures are suddenly favourable! (Who knew?) You will discover marvellous opportunities to promote your good name and deal with foreign countries. Opportunities in business and commercial ventures will be promising.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
At the beginning of this week, especially on Tuesday, you might feel held back or encumbered by rules and regulations or something to do with the law. It could pertain to travel restrictions or something to do with medical or legal matters. (Medical and legal matters can be overwhelming at times.) Whatever the case, you’ll feel discouraged. But lo! What news from yonder modem breaks? Could this be an opportunity to improve your situation be making you more well-informed and better equipped to move forward with your plans? Methinks ’tis so. By Thursday, you’re keen to make travel plans and explore opportunities in medicine, the law, publishing and higher education. Your desire for adventure and a change of scenery will be strong. If you can get out of town, by all means, do so!
Leo (July 23-Aug. 22)
You might have some big plans at the beginning of the week that are stalled in water, especially on Tuesday, because the funding you need is insufficient or doors are closed to you. Bummer. Fear not because by Thursday, you will see ways to get the support from other sources, perhaps a close friend, a partner, a professional or a bank. This is encouraging! Music to your ears! Meanwhile, look for ways to improve close partnerships, even if you don’t have a long-term solution. Long-term solutions are only “plans.” Deal with what’s on your plate today because this is real. Keep in mind that Jupiter at the top of your chart will make you look successful to everyone this year. (Would I kid you?)
Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)
Tread carefully at the beginning of the week, especially on Tuesday, because discussions with partners, spouses, close friends and experts might discourage you. People might be quick to tell you why you can’t do something. Meanwhile, you might feel tired or weaker and have less confidence about defending your own ideas and plans. Fortunately, by Thursday, you will do an about-face and swing into action with optimism and positive expectations for your future. Yeah! This will especially apply to your job and your health. You will see that you are in charge of your destiny and you are holding the reins. This favours travel plans, and plans with publishing, medical issues and the law. It’s up to you – and you’re just fine.
Libra (Sept. 23-Oct. 22)
You might be focused about issues related to your health or your job at the beginning of the week. However, authority figures and restrictions might discourage you. You could feel overwhelmed with work, as well. Fortunately, this is short-lived. By Thursday (Leap Day!), you’re suddenly eager for fun and pleasure. You’re ready to make plans for a future vacation. You might initiate social events, sports outings and fun activities with kids because you’re confident and optimistic. It’s a rewarding time for artists and people involved in creative projects. Romance is also favoured, which means new love might blossom, while existing relationships will flourish in a more affectionate and amorous way. Your plans now look full of promise! Go figure.
Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)
Even though this is a playful time for you, which means you can enjoy social outings, vacations as well as creative ventures – nevertheless, some kind of restriction or limitation might discourage you, especially on Tuesday. (“This again?”) For example, someone in authority might squelch your plans. Fortunately, this is short-lived. By Thursday (Leap Day!), you’re encouraged by positive changes that take place at home or within your family. (This will likely relate to home improvements or real-estate opportunities.) However, this can also be a fun occasion to entertain a group – friends or family. Whatever happens will raise your spirits and makes you feel happier about your private world.
Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)
At the beginning of the week, you are determined; nevertheless, increased responsibilities with parents and family obligations might be onerous. However, by Thursday (Leap Day!), life takes on an unexpected optimism. You’re upbeat and eager about whatever is happening. New enterprises can get off the ground, especially related to business and commerce. Legal matters are favoured. In fact, you might be wildly optimistic about something. If so, be careful you don’t overlook details. Stay grounded and realistic. Opportunities to improve and expand your home, your real estate or your family exist in a lovely way. Good time for new beginnings!
Capricorn (Dec. 22-Jan. 19)
This is a tricky week. At the beginning of the week, you’re focused and determined. You might even be worried about something that makes you feel held back or cautious. Life might feel hard. Fear not because by Thursday (Leap Day!) — everything changes. Feelings of doom and gloom morph into wild optimism and positive expectations! Your financial prospects look good. Business and commerce are favoured, especially new ventures about how to make money or get richer. Social opportunities including chances for a vacation or some fun outings will also please you. This week has a dramatic change for you. Stay tuned.
Aquarius (Jan. 20-Feb. 18)
The beginning of this week is serious, especially about financial matters and your job. You might be discouraged. Things might look bleak. However, you will be determined. Keep the faith because by Thursday (Leap Day!), everything dramatically changes as you see ways to actually get richer. Issues related to business and commerce are promising! Your legal interests will be favoured. Life will bring you opportunities for new enterprises. In particular, physical exercise and outdoor sports will be a welcome choice to boost your health. You might buy wardrobe items that please and delight you. Something will happen that boosts your confidence and makes you feel happy to be in your own skin. “Anyone for tennis?”
Pisces (Feb. 19-March 20)
At the beginning of this week, both the Sun and Mercury in your sign will line up with stern Saturn, which is a sobering influence. You might feel discouraged. You might also feel restricted by authority figures or the law or rules and regulations. Fortunately, by midweek, especially Thursday (Leap Day!), everything changes and you’re suddenly full of enthusiasm! Something going on behind the scenes will make a positive change for you. (For some, this could be a hidden love affair.) You will see opportunities opening up for you, which will let you get the best possible deal for yourself. You’ll feel a buoyant optimism!
